Scairt Amach/Shout Out: Irish Republican Prisoners' Art

Scairt Amach/Shout Out is the proof book of a photo exhibit of the same name produced over several years in Northern Ireland and completed in 1993. The images depict samples of artwork created by imprisoned Irish Republicans. The text outlines the relationship between politics and art, art and identity, and independence of mind and spirit as a result of this discourse. (The photos and captions are part of the political collection of the Linen Hall Library in Belfast, Northern Ireland.) This book is a record of the project more than a work unto itself. I have published it here as an academic reference. Contact me directly for original prints.

Out of the Blue: Poetry for Children

Out of the Blue is a small collection of poems inspired by writer Sandy Carlson's daughter during her earliest years. Carlson looks at the world with her child in these light and loving moments. There's plenty of white space so you and your child can illustrate these poems and make them your own.

Writing in Faith to a Beautiful World

This is a collection of poems that I've written since the publication of Silent Spaces. I walk with an honest faith on a sometimes difficult and disappointing road. It's all I can do. There is hope. Preview and purchase here.

Silent Spaces

Silent Spaces is a memoir in poetry and prose about my family's recollection of Uncle Laurence. Laurence was a WWII submariner who died off the Japanese coast. Click here to purchase.
